ACCC does not oppose Alstom’s acquisition of Bombardier Transportation

The ACCC has announced it will not oppose Alstom’s acquisition of Bombardier’s transportation business. Both are global rail businesses operating in Australia. The focus of the investigation was ‘how the proposed acquisition would affect Australian markets for rolling stock’ and ultimately it was determined that bids from other current and potential suppliers would continue to provide sufficient competitive tension.
