ACCC does not oppose Lumibird-Ellex deal

The ACCC has announced it will not oppose Lumibird’s proposed acquisition of the Lasters and ultrasound Business of Ellex. Both supply ophthalmic lasers and ultrasound equipment, but the ACCC concluded that the deal would not significantly impact competition, particularly because the Australian market was small compared to the global markets in which they operate and because Ellex was the clear market leader in Australia so that the acquisition would only slightly increase the combined market share.
